Nite outing ~ with Sharon, Wan Hon, Elvina and wifey

May 21, 2012 (Monday)

Makan... makan dan makan. Minggu ni memang makan tak berhenti. Kalau my doc tahu ni, kena hamun le aku. Tapi nak buat macam mana, kekawan dah ajak, lagipun lepas ni tak tahu bila lagi ada peluang macam ni. Dapat berkumpul ramai2 dengan close friends, memang priceless. Location, Bintang Cafe di Victoria Park. Lama me and wifey tak datang sini, lepas chef lama berhenti dan ganti dengan chef yang baru. Hasil tangan chef baru ni tak berapa menyengat sangat, so me and wifey dah tak selera nak makan kat Bintang Cafe.

Sambil tunggu Wan Hon dan Elvina sampai, me and wifey as well as Sharon lepak2 depan Bintang Cafe. Ramai pula customers, tapi tempat makin kecil. Then remember Batavia Cafe just the end of the corner, kami jenguk sekejap... ruang luas dan customers tak ramai. Pernah makan kat sini dulu, boleh tahan. Thinking to change our plan from Bintang Cafe to Batavia Cafe. But after Wan Hon and Elvina sampai, Bintang Cafe dah sedikit lengang. So Bintang Cafe off we go.....

Bintang Cafe, Victoria Park Village.

Perut masih kenyang, tapi bila tengok menu datang pula selera. Me and wifey order nasi goreng kambing dengan teh tarik. Wan Hon dengan nasi sunda, Elvina order nasi bali dan Sharon, kuey teow goreng. Out of our expectation, menyengat juga masakan kat sini. Mungkin chef lama dah kembali agaknya.

Nasi goreng kambing.

Sapu licin.

Teh tarik Bintang Cafe... kat Makan2 lagi power.

Gift from Sharon.... cap CSIRO... thanks my dear friend.

Dah kenyang, sembang2 pasal plan nak pergi Bangkok bulan 11 nanti. Siap buat plan nak jenguk Miss Tiffany... selera songsang betul kekawan aku ni... he3. Berbagai topics keluar pasal Pattaya, tapi kenapa balik2 topic ladyboy jugak yang kena up? Tapi sembang sini tak best sangat, sebab tempat terhad, tengah sembang lepas makan, ada customers lain terjenguk2 cari tempat. Keji sangat rasanya kalau terus sambung sembang, so decided untuk cari port sembang yang lain.

Wan Hon kalau lepas makan, mesti kena cari something sweet.

Utopia Victoria Park.

Interior Utopia macam tak ngam untuk kaki sembang.

Lepak Dome lagi puas hati. Topic ladyboy masih lagi panas.... ha3. Wan Hon siap cerita pengalaman pergi Pattaya, yang lain ternganga dengar... hahahahaha.... memang kena repeat kata Wan Hon. Tapi trip akan datang ada syarat, NO KIDS and NO PARENTS, only The Stooges.... best2.... couldn't wait for our next adventure.

My favourite... hot chocolate.

Double choc cake... cream dia memang best.

Apa nama ntah... Wan Hon order.

Masih berselera makan sambil sembang bagai.

Bagai nak pecah Dome dengan suara kami sembang, especially suara Elvina. Dia ni kalau gelak, macam tak ingat dunia. Bagak betul suara dia ni kalau mengilai. Seronok sembang sampai tak sedar Dome dah nak kena tutup. Staff Dome dah mula pungut pinggan mangkuk masuk dapur, angkut meja kerusi kat luar masuk dalam. Kami masih sibuk sembang topik ladyboy... hahahahaha.

Nampak staff Dome dok bagi hints... suruh kami beredar sebab dah nak tutup dan mereka pun nak balik rumah makan nasik.... minah salleh makan nasik ke? Kami gerak keluar, bukan terus balik tapi sambung lepak dan sembang kat luar Dome. Topik sembang, Pattaya dan ladyboy.... ha3. Siap ada proposal nak jenguk private tiger show... tapi kenapa Wan Hon ada cakap pasal elephant show? hahahahaha.... senak perut bila Wan Hon sebut pasal elephant show... alahai kawan aku yang sorang ni.....

Sejuk giler kat luar Dome... dah penghujung autumn, memang sejuk tu kekadang menyengat. Gagahkan diri untuk sambung sembang, tapi lama2 mana tahan, dingin sangat. Dengan muka sedih, we call our day nite. Our last gathering before I'm leaving Perth.

Okies my dear friends, I will miss you. See you in Thailand this coming November. Cheers

Dinner nasi lemak ~ with Bro Shem and Sister Linda

May 20, 2012 (Sunday)

Balik dari BBQ Shenton Park, lepak2 rehat sekejap. Jam 6ish pm gerak pergi rumah Bro Shem & Sister Linda, dinner nasi lemak. Fuhhh!!!! lama betul tak pekena nasi lemak, purely Malaysian recipe. Makan bertambah seh, lupa nasihat doc untuk control makan... he3.

Lepas nasi lemak, cheesecake plus teh O... naik berat badan aku.

Both of them masih tak sihat, sore throat and mild fever but still entertained us very well. This will be our last dinner together before I'm leaving Perth... sob3. But as promised we made, friendship never end. For sure I will return for my graduation day as well as for vacation. This time will bring my juniors together, bagi Haiqal and Qayyum merasa berjalan kat overseas... he3.

And thanks Bro Shem and Sister Linda for the little tripod, fit my camera very well. Useful for my photography activities. Thanks again, not only for the tripod but also for ur warm friendship for the last couple of years. Thanks for being such a nice and generous friends. Will miss both of you, but eagerly to meet both of you in KL next month. Insya Allah....

Mini tripods... thanks Bro Shem.

BBQ @ Shenton Park ~ with Umar, Sung Bo, Sharon, Wan Hon, Xixi and Alene

May 20, 2012 (Sunday)

Farewell party? Hmmm... I don't like farewell party very much. Especially when we never know, when will we able to meet up with our close friends again. But like I said before, we couldn't live under our own shadow forever. So that's it, BBQ we go... for me its more to socialised among close friends instead of farewell.

Plenty of foods, no meehon goreng this time but nasi goreng special by my wifey... marbeles, everyone like it very much. Also chicken with Korean sauce by Sung Bo. Menjilat kaki seh!!!! We ate like no tomorrow, almost forgot about my diets. Sigh!!!! I need to reduce my weight ~ about 10 kilos.

Cute...

The girls busy with.... not sure with what!!!!

Peaceful place for family bonding.

Delicious... menjilat kaki seh!!!

Gift from Xixi... cute!!!

Another one also from Xixi.... thanks.

Swan Valley and Whiteman Park

May 19, 2012 (Saturday)

Since I'm leaving soon, The Stooges decided to spend some time together as much as we can... hehehe... touching betul. So this week kami kembali lagi ke Swan River to collect items yang ditempah oleh Wan Hon dari Cape Lavender. As usual kalau ke Swan Valley mesti singgah chocolate factory. Sempat juga bought a few things as a souvenier untuk kekawan di Malaysia. Also met a group of Malaysian here, rombongan pakcik2 korporat dari Melaka. Sembang2 pasal currency exchange, makin jatuh nampaknya dollar Aussie... rugi3, banyak dollar dalam poket ni, nak convert ke ringgit... hehehehe.
Then off we go to Cape Lavender to pick up barangan Wan Hon... essential oils bagai. Bagus2 product Cape Lavender, tapi me and wifey tak beli apa pun.

Red roses depan Cape Lavendar.

Finished our bizz di Cape Lavendar, its lunch time. Tengok map, Whiteman Park tak jauh mana, so we heading to Whiteman Park for picnic. Lalu Caversham Wildlife tapi tak singgah, sebab few years back dah masuk, masa tu baru sampai Australia. Hidangan wajib picnic macam biasa, mee hon goreng yang dimasak oleh my wife... hehehehe

Saujana mata memandang, langit indah membiru.

Picnic shelter.

Cute birdie.

Wan Hon No. 1 enemy... phobia betul dia dengan magpies.

Birdie kat sini especially magpies suka curi makanan... berhati2.

Make it more touching.... sob3..... siap ada cake for my farewell and advanced birthday celebration.... he3. My birthday lambat lagi, awal bulan 6 but since I'm leaving end of this month, The Stooges decided to celebrate my birthday 2 weeks early. Me of course buat2 surprised and terharu... he3. But to be frank, I'm appreciated our friendship very much. All of you are the best friends I ever met... Wan Hon, Sharon, Xixi, Vina, Elvina and my beloved wife.

Brutal seh my birthday cake.

The best friend I'm ever met... Sharon and Wan Hon.

The Stooges port... picnic shelter B.

We just spent our time chit chat without ever thinking to visit Caversham Wildlife Park or nearby museum. Just pure chit chat among closed friends. I will miss our lovely moment, very much, after leaving Perth. But life must goes on, we can't live in our own shadow forever.

Traffic light berkecai ~ N3 kontot

On the way balik rumah, nampak traffic light nan satu ni berkecai. Entah sapa langgar... TL ni tak jauh dari simpang masuk to my office kat CSIRO. After couple of days, masih macam tu juga, belum diperbaiki. Cuma ada lilitan kuning tertera 'DANGER'.

Entah bila nak diperbaiki... junction ni memang susah sikit kalau nak masuk ke kanan, sebab susah nak nampak kereta dari depan.... sigh!!!!!

Farewell dinner and Amani's birthday

May 13, 2012 (Sunday)

As usual Bro Shem and Sister Linda bermurah hati dan dengan penuh rela membenarkan their lovely place dijadikan tempat untuk berkumpul sambil makan2. This time, farewell dinner bagi those yang akan menamatkan pengajian dan bakal pulang ke Malaysia. Also Amani's birthday party... supposed we shared the cake (its my birthday too) but this little girl too stingy, wanna the cake exclusively for her only.... ha3.

The chief chef of course Bro Shem... mushroom soup, salmon steak, chilli mussels and fruits. Fuhhh!!!! marbeles especially chilli mussels. Should learn how to prepare all those food from you bro!!!! Dah kenyang sembang2 pasal golf, shipping barang balik Malaysia etc.

Around 9 pm all other guest heading home. Leaving me and my wifey continue chatting with Bro Shem and Sister Linda. Chit chat sambil layan movie, and thanks bro for download hundreds of movies for us. Mahu termuntah nak tengok semua ni. Obviously we will miss all this moments bila pulang Malaysia nanti.

Mushroom soup

Salmon steak

Chilli mussels

Delicious!!!!!!

Carousel and E-Shed Market ~ Last coupeque sebelum balik Malaysia

Jalan2 di Carousel weekend lepas, cari birthday cake untuk Amani (supposed mine as well) juga cari brg2 sikit untuk dibawa balik Malaysia. Bukan barang apa pun, office attire for me and wifey, Royal Doulton (tapi banyak stok dah kena sapu dengan auntie2 pelancong) juga toys untuk ank2 (me suka quality toys kat sini even made in China).

As usual mesti nak singgah Gloria Jean's for hot choc, buat alas perut tapi full house pula. Nak ke Nando's pun sama, full house. So we step-in to Michel's Patisserie for some hot choc and munchy2. Kat sini juga we bought birthday cake for Amani, the price cheaper than The Cheesecake House.

Then teringat kena beli sobenier, so gerak pergi E-Shed Market, Freemantle. Shopping barang sikit kat kedai sobenier Uncle Simon, murah sikit berbanding Aussin. Tak banyak beli pun, sebab sebelum ni dah borong banyak kat Aussin. Comel2 patung kangaroo dia. Nampak satu patung koala, me beli kat city 3 minggu lepas harga 18 dollar satu, kat tempat Uncle Simon harga 5 dollars saja dowh!!!!

Swan Valley

May 5, 2012 (Saturday)

Returned from our Busselton-Margaret River-Augusta awesome trip, The Stooges still in vacation mood. Make a move for another escapade, this time to Swan Valley. A very short trip, but gud enuff to spend a very good weekend and quality time with a very good friends.

We leaving Perth quarter to 10 am, this time no more iMax (I missed that car tho...) but Yaris belong to Wan Hon. Gud enuff for 5 of us... yes 5 of us and not 6. If you realised the number of The Stooges in each trip kept changing... sometime 5, or maybe 6, even 4 depend on availability.

Exit to Swan Valley from Great Eastern Highway.

Swan Valley is not far from my place, after drove for 30 minutes we arrived at our first check point, Margaret River Chocolate Factory. Yes, the same name with the one at Margaret River but this one located at Swan Valley. It’s looked the same as what I saw in my previous visit 3 years ago, except no more huge signboard on top of the factory. The products and environment just like before. Personally I like the one at Margaret River more than this one.

The products.

Then moved our head and legs to Cape Lavender, just behind the chocolate factory. Cape Lavender relocated their main activities from Margaret River to Swan Valley. Their premise in Swan Valley included a small cafe, gift and product shop and facilities to manufacture their products. Not sure if they open their Lavender Farm to public, we not ask either.

Forgot to sample lavender tea.

Under the same roof with Cape Lavender, is Mago Coffee. Mago Coffee sold almost everything related to coffee but their core business of course coffee bean. The aroma just great but been a social coffee drinker, end up with buy nothing from Mago Coffee.

The aroma of bean and red roses, a refreshing environment.

Then having our lunch at Elmar’s German Restaurant. Should be noted that Elmar’s is NON-HALAL restaurant so nothing much we as a muslim can enjoy there. Elmar’s is favourite resto for Wan Hon and Sharon, and maybe for Vina too. The menus almost all contained white wine and pork. The only thing we as a muslim can enjoy here is tuna steak but again the issue might be sensitive for certain individu, since the utensil used to prepare the tuna steak might be used to prepare pork steak!!!! Thinking of that, end up with a cup of hot chocolate and a piece of cake.

Elmar's interior deco, simple but classy.

Our next pit stop was The House of Honey. They sold honey-based product such as honey-choc, honey-sparkling water as well as cute souvenier. Not far from The House of Honey is Mondo Nougat. The concept in Mondo Nougat, similar with choc factory where we can watch nougat been made.

Entrance to The House of Honey, unique signboard.

Unique deco by Mondo Nougat.

Be the last pit stop, we leaved Mondo Nugget around 3ish pm for Perth. Another short trip but memorable by The Stooges. Keep thinking for our next escape, maybe horse riding?

Busselton-Margaret River-Augusta ~ Day 4: Busselton Jetty, Margaret River Dairy Company, Metricup Birds Park, The Grove Vineyard and Laurance

April 29, 2012 (Sunday)

Our last day, tour to Margaret River. First thing first, kemaskan rumah Marion & Morris, tempat kami menginap for the last 4 days. Make sure everything just like before we enter the house, even tried to make looked better. Orang berbudi, kita berbahasa.... Marion & Morris bermurah hati membenarkan The 6 Stooges menginap di beach house mereka secara percuma, so we more than willing to clean up their house as best as we can before leaving the house.

So where are we heading to today? The infamous Busselton Jetty!!!! Not far from Marion & Morris place, around 15 minutes drive if I'm not mistaken. The weather, just like couple of days ago, not in our side. Kept raining and raining.... even heavier today. Lucky enuff, the rain stopped when we arrived at Busselton Jetty....  stretching 1.8 km across Geographe Bay, Busselton Jetty is the longest tiber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.

Sayup2 kelihatan penghujung jeti, 1.8 km tu jauhnya....

Nak masuk jeti kena bayar AUD2.50 seorang. Tapi kalau tak nak jalan kaki, boleh naik train. The price for jetty train AUD11 for adult 15 years and above, AUD6 for kid 3-14 years old.

Jetty day pass... AUD2.50

Masa The 6 Stooges sampai, train tidak beroperasi disebabkan masalah cuaca. We just walked to the end of the jetty. Makin jauh ke tengah laut, makin kuat angin menghembus... hembus ke? Mahu tercampak budak kecik ke laut.....

Menariknya di pertengahan jeti, ada macam kawasan memorial untuk someone yang hidupnya berkait rapat dengan jeti tersebut... such as regular visitors, fisherman etc.

In memories... RIP

Along the jetty, boleh jumpa kaki pancing.... memancing dibenarkan.

Penghujung jeti, angin bukan main kuat... be careful with ur camera, takut terpercik air masin.

Bila dah sampai hujung jeti, The 6 Stooges lepak2 sekejap... amik gambar dan beli fridge magnet buat sobenier. Kami tak masuk pun Underwater Observary. Kemudian cepat2 berjalan balik sebab langit hitam macam nak hujan.

Baru dua tiga gerai The 6 Stooges jengah, tetiba hujan turun bukan main lebat. Me berlari untuk berteduh bawah pokok while others menyelinap bawah khemah tempat jual buah. Sekali masam mencuka makcik jual buah tu, sebab semua orang bersesak2 bawah khemah dia... keh3. Tapi The Stooges buat2 tak faham... okies, beli jugalah buah dalam sekilo dua dari makcik tu, buat amik hati. Lagipun murah giler harga buah makcik tu!!!!!!!

Since nothing more to do with Busselton Jetty, we decided untuk gerak ke Marion & Morris farm house untuk pulangkan kunci. Maybe already written semenjak azali, tour The 6 Stooges kali ini penuh dengan dugaan. Not long after leaving Busselton Jetty, agak2 tak panas punggung dalam iMax, baju pun belum kering, we was followed by police patrol car. Okies, saja nak follow kot.... sedapkan hati. Lagipun rasanya tak buat salah apa pun, lesen pun masih sah.... tak perlu risau.... ngeh3.

Sekali lampu biru merah dia menyala... siap ada bunyi viut3. Sah kami kena tahan... apa hal pulak ni. Me terus berhentikan iMax tepi highway tapi brader polis tu suruh parked kereta kat parking lot kedai berhampiran. Tak nak ganggu lalulintas le tu...

How ya doin mate? I'm presumed all of you student ya... macam tu le lebih kurang mukaddimah brader polis. Doing well mate... answered me sambil mata melirik kat pistol brader polis tu. And the conversation continued like this;

Officer: You know why we stopped you mate?
Me: (Geleng2 kepala tanda tak tahu)

Officer: 3 of ur passengers not wearing seatbelts, we saw it.
Me: (Hanya mampu buat muka terkejut)

Officer: You know why they not wear their seatbelts  mate?
Me: Know nothing, maybe you should ask them (jawapan nak kena pelempang dengan polis).

Officer: Ask them huh? Its your responsibility as a driver to remind them.
Me: (Hanya mampu buat muka tak tahu dan terkejut yang amat).

Officer: May I see your driving licence mate? And the ID of passenger behind you.
Me: Behind me, Vina?
Vina: Huh, me?

Masa ni gabra dah, sampai terpelanting driving lesen masa nak hulur tu.... lesen memandu Malaysia siap dengan translation dari Malaysian Consulate di Perth.

When Vina hand over her ID, an Australia Driving Licence... brader polis tu buat nada sinis... huh, you are Western Australian, you should know the rules.

Bala2... lepas brader polis tu returned to his patrol car with my driving licence and Vina ID, The 6 Stooges began guessing what will happen next. Dah nampak dah duit terbang melayang2.

Brader polis tengah tulis surat saman... The 6 Stooges dalam kereta dah gabra tak sudah.

Awhile later......

Officer: Take your driving licence back mate. I will back for you after the passenger.
Me: Thanks (what for?)

Officer: Okies Miss Vina, this is ur ID. We fined you AUD500 for not wearing seatbelt. You can pay... bla3.
Vina: Hanya mampu mengangguk... sambil buat muka poyo.

Masa ni masing2 dah terdiam. 500 dollars tu melayang....

The price need to pay by Vina.

Officer: And you as a driver, you can be fined AUD700 for not remind ur passenger to wear seatbelt.
Me: Huh, 700 dollars? (Sambil buat2 muka terkejut dan menyesal)
Officer: But.... considering you might don't know the law, we will not fine you today... as well as another 2 of ur passengers. Just be more carefull next time mate.
Me: Owh okies... thanks for that.
Officer: Have a nice day.
Me: You too!!!!!!

After checking the condition of Vina's seatbelt, the police officer went off to their next target and The 6 Stooges terpaku dalam iMax seketika. Masing2 buat muka tak percaya Vina kena saman 500 dollars. Cheap vacation became too expensive for her now!!!!

Thanks Allah sebab me selamat dari kena saman 700 dollars as well as other 2 of The Stooges. Only God knows why only Vina yang kena saman.... kesian dia. Nasib baik dengan izin Allah me lepas, sebab masih guna Malaysian driving licence, so ada budibicara.

Hilang rasa tergezut, The 6 Stooges kembali menjelajah. This time to The Margaret River Dairy Company. There are 2 retail shops belong to The Margaret River Dairy Company, one in Bussel Highway, Metricup and another one Bussel Highway, Cowaramup. Not sure which one yang The 6 Stooges singgah. Here we can find berbagai jenis cheese dan yoghurts.

The Margaret River Dairy Company.... retail shop di Metricup kalau tak silap.

Then singgah pula di Metricup Bird Park.

Tangkap lentuk... seronok kepala kena belai.

For the sake of Wan Hon and others, we able to visit two wineries before heading back to Perth.

First wineries The 6 Stooges singgah adalah The Grove Vineyard. Outside decore memang cantik, siap ada kolam bagai. Kebetulan The 6 Stooges sampai sini waktu lunch hour, so pekena meehon goreng hasil tangan Mrs dulu... makan dalam iMax je sebab masih hujan. Finished our lunch dan hujan pun dah berhenti, bergerak ke club house. Club house ni terbahagi dua, satu area untuk wine testing dan satu area lagi cafe, opened for breakfast and lunch. We went for some drink (non alcohol wei....). Me order chocolate milkshake and Mrs hot cappuchino. Others tak ingat apa yang diorder... all non alcoholic.

Bagak betul style pagar batu dia... lambang kemewahan pengeluar wine di Margaret River.

Small pond located outside the club house.... siap ternak buaya tu.

Outside deco of Lauren Wineries.

Autumn in Lauren Wineries.

Aneka ragam wine keluaran Lauren.

Wan Hon end up here without any wine testing since she will be the one who will drive us back to Perth (padahal dia yang beriya2 nak visit wineries). Unexpectedly last minutes Xixi nak cuba test berbagai jenis wine... secretly for some reason/s, someone tak puas hati sebab its was her last minutes decision (guess who? ngeh3)... and end up Xixi borong berbotol2 wine... banyak betul duit amoi ni.

Back to Lauren Wineries set-up, terserlah kemewahannya disana-sini.

Inside decor... botol wine lama pun jadi bahan pameran.

At Lauren, Sharon bought a bottle of wine for Marion & Morris. To show our appreciation for their hospitality.

Finished our business at Lauren, went to Marion & Morris farm house to hand over their beach house key. Gladly dia terima sedikit buah tangan dari Sharon, her future daughter in law... keh3. Tak lama di sini sebab hari dah makin petang. After berbasi basa lebih kurang, bertolak balik ke Perth.

Again and again, sekadar nak menambah perisa.. beberapa kali our iMax hampir mishap dengan kereta kat highway. Me dah cuak dah, Wan Hon ni drunk ke... tapi tak nampak pula dia minum tadi... wink2.

Dah malam baru kami sampai Perth. Alhamdulillah selamat semuanya. Masing2 buat muka penat dan tunjuk muka rindukan bantal tilam. Simpan iMax at my place first, esok pepagi kena hantar balik Thrifty, my last task as a second driver.

~ End of The 6 Stooges epic journey ~
